Similar to urgent care for people, we provide treatment that falls between routine exams and emergency care. This includes issues like bite wounds, stomach issues, wound treatment, pain or limping, eye and ear issues, coughing, urination issues, and more. Essentially, urgent care for pets is whenever you think to yourself, “I think something’s wrong — a vet should take a look at this ASAP.”

What does a routine checkup include?

A checkup is a comprehensive nose -to-tail examination by a doctor who will customize a medical plan based on your pet’s needs and answer questions you may have. If our doctor recommends additional treatments or diagnostics, we’ll go over what they are, why they would be beneficial, and how much they cost beforehand.

Do you accept pet insurance?

Yes, we take all pet insurances, and our Upper West Side at 77th Street team will be more than happy to help you submit a claim.

Do you offer teeth clinics and dental surgery?

Yes! Our Upper West Side at 77th Street clinic has a dedicated dental suite to provide the best dental cleaning experience for your pet. During the cleaning, an oral exam is performed, full-mouth radiographs are taken, teeth are scaled and polished, and we remove calculus from the tooth's surface and under gum lines. We then probe the teeth to measure the pockets that exist under the gum lines. If teeth are very unhealthy, we remove them.

“I have been bringing my pets to bond vet for 4 years. My first experience with Bond Vet and Dr Buchalter specifically was a very emotional one because I was putting my 21 year old daschund to sleep. The genuine care, compassion and empathy that she showed me during this time will stay with me forever, as I was truly heartbroken 💔 about loosing my Truffles. A Few days later after she was put to sleep I received this handwritten card in the mail from her with Truffles name on the front of the card. I will not go into details about what was said in the card but I will say it was absolutely beautiful. I still have the card on my refrigerator to this day. Fast forward a year later I bought a frenchie, when she too had a medical emergency Dr Buchalter was right there. She called me everyday to see how my little Moonie was and as usual she went above and beyond for her. I honestly don't know what my dogs or I would do without Dr Buchalter! She loves her patients and does what's needed to make sure they are okay. We are so lucky to have found such a caring veterinarian and such a great clinic.”

“My cat Bunny received superior care from Dr. Buchalter and the entire team at Bond UWS 77th St. I can't say enough positive things about our time at Bond. I brought her to 77th St. as a referral from another vet when Bunny was showing a lot of mysterious symptoms. She then had to spend some time at the animal hospital initially and their testing results suggested we give up, but Dr. Buchalter did not give up! She saw Bunny had a lot of life in her still, despite the bleak prognosis on paper and the fact Bunny was almost 15 years old. She was always willing to keep trying. She gave us so much hope and expertly provided multiple treatment avenues, always in close communication throughout. I could always reach out to the entire care team too with questions via their excellent patient chat system and felt very supported. And it was working! Bunny responded really well to their extensive care with all of the vets, nurses, VAs, and care coordinators having a hand in her care. (Shout-out to literally everyone!!) Bunny really rallied I think because of this unprecedented level of care and we ultimately had an extra 8 weeks of quality time with our girl! Priceless!!! She lived every day to the fullest and they did absolutely everything they could even as symptoms kept piling up. The team there is so compassionate and handled every detail of her care and eventual passing with the highest level of compassion and kindness. I have no doubt her passing was not a day too soon and without pain. They have continued to support me beyond Bunny's care and I am so grateful for their continued kindness.
